The first Test ends in a tame draw as South Africa bat out the whole fifth day scoring 331 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Leading by 244 runs Smith didn't take the risk of making India bat again as Sehwag was in supreme form and he could have got on top of them. Finally the two captains had a small chat and decided to call off the match before the scheduled time. McKenzie (155) and Amla's (81) provided stiff resistence which prevented India to go all out for the kill. Sehwag was declared the Man of the Match for his marathon innings of 319 runs and a wicket of Boucher. Harbhajan ended up taking 3-101 but his bowling was well played by the Proteas.
