New Delhi: Left-arm India pacer Zaheer Khan may not be available for selection for the Ireland ODIs after he limped off during the second one-dayer of the Afro-Asia Cup on Saturday after bowling just 2.4 overs.
Zaheer, who was spearheading the Asia XI pace attack along with Mohammad Asif of Pakistan, walked out of the match with a hip strain.
The extent of Zaheer's injury and how long he would be out of action is yet to be ascertained.
Team India physio John Gloster took Zaheer to a Chennai hospital on Sunday for an MRI scan of the hip, the results of which will come out later in the day.
India are scheduled to play three one-day internationals in Ireland against South Africa starting from June 26 to July 1. The Indian team will then proceed to Glasgow, Scotland where they play Pakistan in a one-off charity ODI on July 3.
The squad for these four matches will be chosen on June 12 in Delhi. India are then scheduled to tour England for a full series beginning July 7.
