Profile: The swashbuckling batsman from Punjab, Yuvraj Singh, is expected to be a big hit in the IPL Twenty20 tournament as he was in the World Cup, which Indians won in South Africa last year.

Yuvraj, considered more as a One-Day batsman, has however played in 22 Test matches scoring 1018 runs from 35 innings with 169 as his highest score for an average of 32.83 with three hundreds and an equal number of half centuries apart from taking 24 catches.

He also has three Test wickets to his credit.

A stylish left handed batsman, who holds the record of hitting six sixes in one over in an international match has scored 5727 runs from 202 One-Day matches with 139 being his highest score for a strike rate of 86.58, including eight hundreds and 35 fifties and 62 catches mostly on the outfield after making his One-Day debut against Kenya at Nairobi on October three, 2000.

Yuvraj, who bowls left arm spinners in the shorter version of the game, has taken 54 wickets with four for six as his best figures.

After making his Twenty20 International debut against Scotland at Durban on September 13 last year he went on to score 179 runs from seven matches with 70 as his highest score for a strike rate of 177.22.

Being the Icon player and captain of the Mohali team, Yuvraj stands to gain over one million US Dollars per year in the IPL Twenty20 tournament.
