Younis brilliance keeps Pakistan alive

Not for the first time, it came out amply that even scores around 300 are not guarantee for a win. India, after winning the toss, did not get quite enough while batting and that gave Pakistan enough momentum to reel in the target of 309 without much trouble, thanks mainly to Younis Khan, who scored a sparkling century. Narender Gupta I think composition of Indian team against Pakistan was something to ponder about. On a flat track like Karachi, what was the point of having 7-8 batsman. Utility of a player like Yousaf Pathan is a big question mark. In Asian conditions, swing bowlers like Praveen Kumar (coupled with his attitude on the field/fielding) and Irfan Pathan, with speeds ranging between 120-130 Kmh can never be successful. Only seam bowlers like Zaheer, Sreesant can hope to do some good, hence, a policy like horses for courses needs to be kept in mind while selecting for the tours. modan Jha By now everyone realised that Dhoni wants to increase his batting average. In Dhaka also he played slowly in the final and we were short by aboy 20 runs. Vidhushak !! Scoring over 300 runs and winning a crucial game against India, losing just two wickets, Pakistan has proved that it''s a great team on the home-soil. You may call it a flat pitch or the bowlers'' curse, an international side has to reckon with all these factors. Imagine for a moment that it was NOT won by their regular captain Malik but a make-shift Misbah, who being a pinch-hitter, controlled his aggression and played a second-fiddle along with Younis to romp home ! Both the Indian batsmen Raina & Yuvi were flops--they''re expected to rise to the occasion--while all the bowlers were found wanting; why the two Pathans, as if to create a wisden record ?? In fact, they had forgotten the art of deceiving the batsmen to lure & capture wickets .. Lastly, Dhoni''s captaincy as well as Gary Kirsten''s Coaching should now be under a sophisticated scanner, if not a microscope !! At this rate, will INIDA QUALIY FOR THE FINALS ??
