I don''t think Dyson is worth discussing in 2 page column here. Perhaps author didn''t find any other good topic. If India doesn''t have urgency for a coach. they have a reason to do so. They are winning without a coach. Just because likes of Dysons need a job ... They dont''t have to rush. It''s not their problem!

India need someone from a different country because India''s fielding is very poor and if my memory is right there are no Andrew Symonds or Micheal Clarke''s in India which is why we need a foreign coach because the mentality in India is not strong enough to beat other nations especially on their home soil a foreign coach must be the option in my opinion but the BCCI must not restrict the coach like the former coach there were too many restrictions on him that why he was not as good as he could of been saying that there is to much corruption in the BCCI. I am sorry if i offended anyone but this is how i feel.

What is interesting is the comment that Dav Whatmore is to be eased into the post as coach through the backdoor. Is this how the BCCI are really going about the coaching appointment? If so, it''s amazing it hasn''t been highlighted more

Mr. Chesterfield I am really disappointed by your comments in this article. It is true that BCCI is taking long to decide on coach, but that dosenot mean that they will consider "anyone".The Indian team needs a coach who leads from the front and show some results and should keep away from "imporving the system ". Check two examples John Wright and Chapple. The failures of Chapple disappointed not only board but the whole cricket World , the team with the experiance and talent can be such a big failure if falls in wrong hand.So be patiant and enjoy the cricket.

I am not in agreement here. While Chappell tried things that didn''t work, Wright was a good did a lot more for the side than is obvious. It was Wright who changed the thinking about fitness targets and fielding was better undr him than with Chappell. If any team is to grow and become a better fielding side it needs hard work and thinking. The fielding has gone seriously backward since Wright and then Chappell left. Do we have such coaches in India who can do this?
I was in South Africa and England with Team India undre Wright and there was a major difference. All this talk about India having coaches to match say Buchanan and others is all idle talk and boasting. We don''t. It''s time to wake up. Reality is success. If Twenty/20 is how we measure success, we have''t a chance in the tests and odis.

Well this a clear misunderstanding of cultures. The way (routine)business is done.We follow a trial and error approach...we learn and slowly take a decesion which seems fine to all.May not be the right decesion in the long term..I think we all are wondering how cultures work...like the Mathew Haydens comment...agressiveness is in our culture...so we hail personal abuse on field...thats what we are...and ae are not goint to change that.We have got used to it...and let it be.....the world has to get used to our ways of working.

why is the BCCI after foreign coaches when we have legends in our own soil

India does not need any Aussie. Rather we need the legendary steely Mohinder Amarnath who won us the 1983 finals along with Srikant and other bowlers.

Who cares if Dyson is no longer available? I am rooting for an Indian coach. The winning teams in any team sport are generally coached by persons from the team''s country. What we could use are specialist trainers, sports medicine experts, sports psychologist etc. The head coach should be an Indian. A head coach must not only appear, but also actually be a unequivocal patriot. However, I do not question your conclusions about the incompetance of the BCCI.

Sharad K hasn''t obviously been to see how the system is run in Australia. They are professional, we don''t have such people here as those who do the job in Australia, New Zealand even , and their population is a fraction, yet they have impressive success. Cheer for your Indian coach and see the results.
