Anand Sachar	The recently concluded EURO 2008 is the next biggest competition in football after the World Cup. That, as the name suggests has only the European teams and the Asia Cup in cricket similarly has Asian teams. However for some reason people have a problem with the Asia cup being staged and with the participation of the minnows in it which i cant really understand. If cricket is to be a global sport participation of smaller teams is very much essential not only in the Asia cup but in other tournaments also. Even all the teams participating in the Euro were not of the same level but we had Turkey and Russia reaching the semis. ( Posted: Tuesday , July 01, 2008 at 10:12 )
Dinker	Why ASIA cup almost all the odi series execpt WC is just a money earning exercise.It really does not measure the quality and calibre of the participating teams(kitply cup the latest example).right now India side should have been seriously practising for their series in Srilanka cos we need to retain the tag of happy travellers!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 ( Posted: Monday , June 30, 2008 at 16:46 )
Ram	Cricket is beginning to get boring !!! Its kinda akin to eating too many sweets non-stop...& its getting nauseating. The slam bang variety seems to be carrying this move towards boredom with rapidity. But I guess this sentiment will change with the emerging of new audience. I am out of India for a while in a country(Indonesia) where football is the craze. Euro cup 2008 has helped sworn enimies bury the hatchet (albiet temporary).I have been converted from being the diehard cricket fan to a not so crazy fan. Ruchir Bhatt	Test cricket is the game at its best.I share the writer''s disgust to an extent for the quality of cricekt played during Asia Cup, although it is very important to highlight that more chances can be given to youngsters in such tournaments.Not long ago there was a cry in India for the need of efficient allrounders and match winners...here''s a chance and India or any other country should not miss the opportunity.For the ''minnows'', they have right to represent their country and be given a chance, only then cricket will be a truly global sport. Tennis, football,olympics, etc. all have their own set of ''minnows''- can''t just deny them a stage.Indians are and will always be seduced by any and all form of entertainment-be it sports,melodramatic movies and soapoperas,politics,etc. but cricket will continue to dominate the hearts and minds of the nation. PARTHESH	all of u will see that cricket will loose it charm as it is being played a lot.why has the euro 2008 been so popular in India because people are fed up with cricket. People like to watch wimbledon and football rather than cricket and it is good for the younger generation to know that there are other sports than cricket. Cricket has really become a headache. And this Asia Cup is nothing more than waste of time. Good players will score runs against minnows and think they have become great which is not the case. goutam	we indians never learn to appreciate.we only know to critize.yesterday raina scored a century,then instead of applouding we are saying,"it weak team and it is a run feast",but why r we forgeting bangladesh performance made india out of worldcup.raina has scored good against other team also,we r forgeting. so mr laloo,chiloo,aaloo,papu,learn to appreciate,hope the free criitic would mind my sentence.
