New Delhi: Sachin Tendulkar has not been at his best in the last couple of years. Injuries and poor form has seen the one-time star batsman being 'rested' for the three-match One-Day series against Bangladesh.

Injuries to shoulder, back and tennis elbow etc have meant that Tendulkar is not able to play as freely as he used to do about three-four years back.

Some experts have also said that Tendulkar's injuries were a result of the heavy bat that he used to play with.

Following the tennis elbow, Tendulkar discarded his heavy bat in favour of a lighter one weighing 2.74 pounds.

However, it seems that he is once again planning to revert back to using a heavy bat.

He has asked a leading sports goods shop proprietor in Kolkata, where the team for Bangladesh is undergoing a camp, to send him some heavy willows.

"Sachin called me up in the morning and asked me to deliver three heavy bats immediately," Somnath Dasgupta, the proprietor, was quoted as saying by the PTI on Thursday.

The bats, weighing 2.85 pounds, were delivered to Tendulkar in the afternoon, and he did test out the bats at the Pankaj Gupta Indoor Gymnasium adjacent to the Eden Gardens.

"It seems he now feels completely fit. And so he is reverting to the old specifications," Dasgupta said.

Tendulkar had joined the practice session on Thursday afternoon after twisting his ankle on Wednesday.
