Skipper Dhoni will get the team he wants

The leader of India's team of the future, MS Dhoni has spoken and the message to the BCCI seems clear: he has earned the right to demand the players he wants. And after what the young team achieved in Australia, a return to the coloured clothes seems unlikely for Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly, especially under skipper Dhoni's regime. Read The Article

kamlesh Kamlia Dhoni is taking path followed by Greg Chappel the coach as well as trying to behave like Laloo Prasad Yadav. He will end up being none and would do well to remember win in Australia was largely due to Tendulkar.Should not get too excitd at this happy hour that he gets sacrificed at the first available opportunity,World Cup is too far to fix a Captain now,let alone the team. Ravi I believe Dhoni''s "confidence" is misplaced, and I hope he doesn''t get carried away. Take away Tendulkar and Gambhir''s contributions, and Dhoni''s "Youngistan team" might not have reached the finals of the recently concluded CB series, let alone win it! Dhoni should concentrate on his keeping and batting and keep his mouth shut. There is no shortage of examples of players getting prematurely carried away with preliminary successes and then becoming flops! ( Posted: Friday , March 21, 2008 at 00:25 )
Beevi It was Sachin who saved Dhoni''s face in OD series in Australia not Dhoni''s favourite like Yuvi.

Emmveeyem When Team India Loses, the Captain gets all the bashing from every angle and from everyone. So, Dhoni, as Captain, has every right to say he gets what he wants. Especially so, as Dhoni generously shares the accredition of success with his mates. ( Posted: Thursday , March 20, 2008 at 22:59 )
Mihir Quote: "Ratkanakar Shetty, Chief Administrative Officer, BCCI said: "It is always good, because, after all, he is going to need the team, and performance, whether good or bad, he will be taking the responsibility for that."

It''s like all of a sudden they realize the captain needs the team. before Dhoni all the captains were clowns.
Nothing wrong with the decision. It''s just the previous captains were never given this chance...

ARASU.N LOOK MEDIA ! Nothing wrong or EXCESS in Dhoni''s comments, He firmly proved, justified to the world, that his team selection as well as his final eleven combinations (which was widely cretisiced by MEDIA) are, with lots of CRICKETING SENSE and GUTS...! compared to our earlier captains BAISED combinations...DHONI is a COOL KILLER,his correct and sportive attitude developes a WINNING atmospher,in the CLOSE GAMES,and EVEN in the HOPELESS GAMES....
WHY WE NEED DRAVID any more,A GREATE FUMMMMBLER...!to spoil the flow..??? WHY MEDIA IS BOTHERING ABOUT DRAVID ''S INCLUSION,he himself not ready to fight for it(like Ganguly DID) in the field. LET THE SENIORS OR THE JUNIORS FIGHT FOR THE PLACE....THE DESERVED ONE SHOULD BE SUPPORTED,, NOT YOUR......FAVORITES ! ( Posted: Thursday , March 20, 2008 at 22:18 )
krishnamurthi captain dhoni is nothing but a scheming selfish upstart with swollen head. it is true that india won sorry australia lost but it was not on account of the so called replacements for dravid ganguly in rohit sharma uthappa yuvraj singh etc. it was purely due to australia being not at its best and superlative performance by indian bowlers and sachins performance in the finals. australia was a little circumspect after sydney and that told upon their performance. indian batsmen except sachin gambhir and to some extent slow steady dhoni were all flops. umesh Let this man dictate terms... the future of indian cricket will soon be over... soon someone who performs (someone like sourav, who has been in excellent form) is disliked by him will no longer don the tricolor to represent his country.. and someone who is good for nothing will still remain in the team (someone like Yuvraj, mind you, based on his current form). It is shocking that he is allowed to make such statements in public and let to walk away.. Dravid and Ganguly may have not been outright match winners but they were some of the exceptional talents available to India.. People should understand that a house is not built only with bricks.. it needs a solid foundation which the seniors have laid.. God help this young man with rush of blood... Make no mistake i like him as a cricketer but, he is no gentleman.... We have people openly speaking ill about the legacy of Indian cricket, our senior players... Its nothing less than a TEASE..... I am sorry in behalf of MSD seniors... GOD BLESS INDIA ( Posted: Thursday , March 20, 2008 at 21:54 )
mahesh kumar I accept what dhoni said about seniors but you should not forget the contribution made by seniors in indian cricket team.At the same time from dhoni point of view, even if we set or chase the target of 300 australia would have easily won 2-0 if we have saurav or laxman because of their fielding.I can surely say that this young indian team have saved atleast
30-40 runs in every match beacuse of their fielding as well as their running between the wickets. But considering other view we can have atleast dravid instead of going for the saurav or laxman in the team because he is the one who can contribute both with the bat as well as good in slip fielding.Dhoni! dont make harsh statement over the senior players, you have not even crossed 20% of what our seniors have achieved in international career and also won the matches.Think about what to say before you speak.Dhoni! you can have the Indian team with the combination of seniors(dravid and sachin) and juniors. With that combination our cricket team can taste the victories consistantly ( Posted: Thursday , March 20, 2008 at 21:47 )
