Profile: Considered as world’s best batsman in both Test and ODIs, is yet to make a name for himself in the Twenty20 tournaments at any level. A very stylish batsman, Sachin has over 11,780 Test (146 matches) and 16,153 ODI (415 ties) runs to his credit so far.
The little master, who is expected to lead the Mumbai team in the inaugural IPL tournament, has just played one Twenty20 international against South Africa at Johannesburg on December one and managed to score ten runs.
Tendulkar, who made his Test debut against Pakistan at Karachi in 1989 and his One-Day debut against the same side at Gujranwala, had the distinction of playing against South Africa in the only Twenty20 international match he has played so far.
The Mumbai star, who has taken a single Twenty20 wicket, also has 42 Test wickets and another 154 ODI wickets so far in his career making him a dangerous all-rounder in the Twenty20 format where he is expected to make over 1.05 million US Dollars per year as an Icon player.
With many batting records in Test and One-Day Internationals under his belt, his progress in the IPL will be keenly followed by millions of his fans all round the world.
