Amazing that in a closed door session you seem to know exactly what evidence was given and are sure it all came down to instinct. This parochialism is getting tiresome and reflects poorly on those who blindly indulge their biases. If an Aussie in similar circumstances was alledged to have racially vilified an Indian, would you be so quick to definitively claim injustice?

Aussies always like to vilify others...their so called way of playing the game consists if taunting others by their skin color, race and country...I am sure that if an aussie were reported to Proctor you would have done same analysis that the coumnsit has done here....So stop this typical white_skin and white_ass finger pointing...If you are an aussie you shuld be ashamed to even born in that part of the world....Bloody disgrace on human kind, yeah that''s what you clowns are...

Dear Paul,
We are making a mountain out of a molehill.International Cricket fans feel Australian Cricketers have been high on Gamesmanship and low on Sportsmanship. They have been sledging for years now and got away with it.Harbhajan did not act in a vacuum and must have been provoked.Rightly both should have been banned.

The Australian team are master sledges and that is not something to necessarily be proud of. However there is a clear line between sledging (including swearing)and racially vilifying someone. Racism has no place in sport because it has ramifications far beyond the field. It promotes predjudices and ignorance (see CounterOz above). Noone wants to label Harbijan as a racist person or ruin his career but if he was found to have made a racist remark, he should face the consequences.
Aussie Darren Lehmann was banned for racially vilifying the Sri Lankans in 2003. Cricket Australia let the process follow it''s course and when he was suspended they condemned his comments & racism in general. That is the least we can ask from BCCI as opposed to holding the series to ransom unless Harbijan is cleared. It reeks of using power to dictate terms to less influential cricketing nations.

Isn''t Proctor the same guy who was the match refree of the infamous Pak - Eng test that ended in Hair''s test umpiring career. I thought as a match refree, his performance was poor at the time. And so is ICC''s performance by choosing such a poor official panel for such an important series.

Scott
This whole incident has shown why India are always second. They are acting like 10 yr old boys who will go home and cry cause they lost. 2 Captians agreed not to make racial remarks...Singh then said a racial comment. Suddenly the Aussies and Proctor are the bad guys? How people forget when we play India in their country....sreenath abusing us...and the spinners appealing every 3rd ball when they know its not out. Oh what little memory some people have. Difference is the Aussies dont go home...we tough it out and win.

Yes Scott you are right, Aussie team stays put and play hard even if they are out and that sounds like a good sporting spirit as in case of Clark, Symonds and ponting, not to mention that he was the one who was crying on wankede stadium when Aussies lost the match and complain the pitch and that was like a 5 year old baby crying.
And if you can convince that it was a mere co-incidence that poor decisions were made 9 times against India in the sydney test, then i will go by your words as an INdian

You cann''t make judgement on what Harbajan told.. You people dint know how to come out of the pits..blaming Harbajan wont help you.. I like Aussies aggressive cricket and not their arrogance.. Its definitely not sporitng to claim claim catches that were not.. Its disgracing to see the two Aussies- Ponting and Clarke - telling they were 100% sure of the catches.. This way you can win any number of matches!!

Dear Scott, Does it hurt the sentiments of Australian players when one of their mates is ALLEGEDLY called Monkey? How quickly they forgot that the great Glenn McGrath called Sanath Jaisurya a "BLACK MONKEY" after being hit for four. Is Jaisurya not human? Wouldn''t it have hurt his feelings? The fact is Australians have been dishing it out to other teams for years under the garb of "MENTAL DISINTEGRATION". Now players like Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh are giving it back to them and they don''t know how to handle it because it''s never happened to them before. It seems their minds have been disintegrated This whole thing wouldn''t have escalated to this point if Ponting had accepted Kumble''s apology offer and advice of not pressing charges against Harbhajan after the third day of match. Instead he ran to big daddy Mike to complain. So you see my friend, it''s the Aussies who acted worse than 10yr old boys. Even school boys wouldn''t complain about something as insignificant as Monkey-calling.

My dear Scott,in your words,Australia is doing the right thing?
In recent one day series in India, which catches ,Indian fielders have claimed which are similar ,as claimed by Ponting of Dhoni & Clarke of Ganguly. You are conceding that You are fighting, but not by right means, just by influencing & pressurising the UMPIRES.You people have a bad history, for a win,you can go to any extent, example is underarm bowling, taking the name of rules of game, killing the spirit of game.My dear ,it is game,it is not war.Sensible people in your country are realising that Australian cricketers are wrong. So,in every opinion poll in Australia,it is clear that Aussies cricketers are not playing the game in a fair way, echoing the words of Kumble

Look at Symonds - " Bozo " the clown with his dreadlocks and white face mask! All that is missing is a red plum on his nose!! All " Clowns " (like Symonds should - on the contrary - be amused to be called a " MONKEY " - nothing wrong with that! Where is the Racism factor in being called a monkey?? Symonds should swing from tree to tree and laugh it off?? Where is his sense of humor???. The Aussies are " CRY Babies "! BCCI should pull the plug on this tour and call it off if Bhajji''s ban is not revoked. Let the Aussies know taht they are really behaving like " Monkeys"!!!!

I believe that the Aussie cricketers have Umpires, Referees & ICC in their Pocket. BCCI is rich. But has no power.

I am not surprised by what Australia has done!! "Monkey", like an English journalist put it, a reasonable common man would not consider it in the top 100 racist(if at all)ever in the history of mankind. Secondly, Harbhajan I would say has a little tendency to go over board but not so much as to calling anyone names. Australians would have to have done something in order for bhajji to react like that!! And for "Mr. Prickter", he needs to find a dictionary and look the word ''logic''. Being a south african does not automatically qualify him as as someone who knows all about racism.

M Sohani
I remember Rashid Latif was banned by ICC for claiming a wrong catch against Bangladesh in one of the test post 2003 world cup. The charge was "bringing the game into disrepute". It was brought on by not on field umpires or match refree but ICC CEO under the power vested in him. How come Mr. Speed failed to bring the same charges against Ponting and Clarke for claiming the wrong catches? Because both are Aussies... the same race as Mr. Speed. Now this is a racist behaviour. Would soem one in media like to take this issue up and point it out. Or is it that Aussies never lie and Indian and Pakistanis are habitual liars?
