Hyderabad: The Deccan Chargers may have lost their first couple of games but they now have some reason to cheer. The batting so far has been a letdown and perhaps one of the world's most destructive batsmen can change that around. Herschelle Gibbs is in the city and told Digvijay Singh Deo that he can't wait to get started.
Herschelle Gibbs: There has been plenty of buzz around and the grounds have been really well stacked up as far as the fans are concerned. Entertainment is the name of the game and it's nice to be here and be a part of it.
Digvijay Singh Deo: You have flown in from South Africa this morning. Is there a buzz in South Africa too? Have you been seeing the matches on TV?
Herschelle Gibbs: I have just come from a local Pro20 tournament and all the talk have been about what's happening in India. The guys have been watching. We have been entertained of what we have seen.
Digvijay Singh Deo: You play with people you have competed against. So does that require a mind change?
Herschelle Gibbs: I don't think so. The main thing is to play your natural game. It's just a different environment. Everybody is a natural hitter like myself and being on a different team, you all are playing for the same cause.
Digvijay Singh Deo: Looking at your team, they haven't had a great start to the tournament, do you think it's a long tournament, so there is no need to panic right now?
Herschelle Gibbs: In Twenty20 anything can happen. When you look back you see majority of the time you didn't do the basic right and we haven't done the basics well in the first two games.
There are plenty of games still left. There is plenty of time to turn it around. If you get some good results, you build a momentum and go on from there. This game is a funny game and everybody will tell you that, especially in Twenty20.
