THE MOMENT SEHWAG WAS OUT IT WAS CLEAR THAT THE MATCH WAS HEADING FOR A DRAW. SINCE THE TEST SERIES IS BEING PLAYED IN INDIA CAPTAIN WILL NOT TALK ABT SPORTING PITCHES. IF CHEPUK CANNOT GIVE A RESULT I WONDER WHETHER THE OTHER TWO VENUES WILL HAVE ANYTHING TO OFFER FOR THE BOWLERS IN THIS HUMID CONDITIONS.

all we people do is play for individual records .The platform was perfetcly raised for quick runs and here we had the wall who got stuck like a glue stick and was going no where with the game. Youngsters are the need of the hour ; never mind if we loose a few games with them but they need to move in to the team,.Gone are the days where u have matches as dull as this is .and god only can anwser why such dead pichtes are made time and again in India. The problem here is individual glory is given much more importance than the team winning matches.

I totally disagree with people who say Dravid was very selfish. His approach is different and his role in the team is different. I hope people have not lost sight of the fact that Dravid has won many matches for India: Adelaide Test in 2003/04, Rawalpindi Test in 2004, Kolkata Test against Pakistan in 2005, and West Indies Test in 2006. His 93 runs at Perth also contributed to India''s victory over Australia. People should be more realistic and should not expect Rahul to play like Sehwag. They have different approach and different roles in the team. I appreciate Rahul''s grit and to have got a ton despite not being in good form. He has always believed in building partnerships and not in outdoing partners. That''s why he has the most number of 100+ and 50+ partnerships.

frds u r assumin tat other person for eg sharma/raina would hav stayed on the crease for so long as dravid did... but for ur information it dravid stayed there on crease for so long wch allowed shewag to play freely i recon there was no other person other than dravid could hav stayed there for so long...

On a pitch designed for batsmen and where Sehwag scored more than 300 runs, what did Tendulkar do? This man must be bundled out together with the other so-called seniors without further delay.

In the context of the innings, Dravid''s was equally important as Sehwag''s, given the fact that the other big 3 got a collectove score of 63 with the "Greatest" hitting a ROYAL DUCK. SOme sanity needed to have been showed by the Suarav & Sachin & Sehwag included, given the fact that the SA Bowlers were really bowling with their tails up with the new ball in the morning.

I am surprised to see so many negative comments on Dravids innings. Lets face it, Dravids just come out of an wretched form...& thats limited to not getting a hundred in 10 innings. But thats the class of the batsman that one expects the best out of him. Other "Greats" have been in worser forms, have politiked, played foul, gone with adverse commnets...come on guys give a man his due & some time. Afterall the other "Greats" have gone on to build big scores against the backdrop of BIG partnerships with this man.

india had a chance to win but it was gone when dravid scored his super slow hundred and the middle order failed to perform well. first match should now be a draw and india have made it harder for themselves as they''ve given South Africa cofidence.
