Placid India fail to hold edge over South Africa

Poor run rate by Indian batting seems to have forced the Chennai Test towards a draw as South Africa reached 131-1 at stumps on Saturday, with an overall lead of 44 runs. Rahul Dravid came up with a hundred but failed to exploit the advantage given by Sehwag on Friday. Read The Article

vinod	Today, Dravid was playing to cement his place in the team. It was very selfish of him to play the game so slowly. As a result, India may have missed an opportunity to win this match. Shreepal	wtf..was he doing in the center .. if this test is a draw then only one person has to be blame..! he stood like a wall between a result and a prety obivs draw...! he kileed so much time in between inst ed of geting up the runn rate..even on 4th days morning her just scored 3 runs of 30 ballz.. he played very selfishly....! this games is getting lame now.. u play fr 5 days an end of it u dont get a reslut..Americans cal it true.."game of fools." Pradeep Puri	HHe may have reached 10000 runs in the lowest amount of tests, but lets look at his record in the last few years. It was embarrasing to watch him in Australia & even yesterday. The public wants entertainment & if he has not leant that lesson, he needs to retire & enjoy his past records with his parents & children.Let the young people play or take his game to a new standard like Sachin. The new version of cricket: TWENTY 20 is conceived for the entertaintment freaks/maniacs. TEST CRICKET is all about character,perseverance ,technique ,concentration etc of a cricketer and Mr wall-DRAVID is personification of all the above.And the word "TEST CRICKET" itself implies that. It is not only just embarassment, but he is killing any chances for victory. All he worries about is staying at the crease and making more runs for himself no matter how slow he scores. C M chidanand (captain )	Dravids hundred was no use to India.It only served to beef up his averages and records.Uder the circumstances South Africans made no serious attempt to get him out. amitabh	the sooner we see the back of dravid and gangulythe better it will be for indian cricket. they are too slow and quite often to drive home the advantage. they wre very good once upon a time but are no good to fit in the requirements of modern day cricket. today dravid was too slow and gangly failed to deliver. perhaps likes of Raina and sharma could have done a better job and who knows India could have won the match. Though Lara took less mathes than Dravid and Tendulkar to reach 10K mark, his avg is less than D & T. That means he played more innings than Dravid and Tend''kar in less number of tests. Hence go by the consistency rather than 400 runs in an innings and single digit figures for the next 10-15 innings. Lara is no match to Tend''kar and Dravid when it comes to consistency. Most of the runs scored by lara are of marathon innings but not of consistent performance in a back to back series and more over Lara''s record is pathetic in sub continent.
