Glenn McGrath has played in the last three World Cup finals and is keen to end on a high with a third straight crown.
CNN-IBN's Chief Cricket Correspondent Nishant Arora caught with McGrath for an exclusive interview and began by asking him to look ahead to the big games against Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
"Yes, there are two very big matches for us. Hopefully we can keep our form going and it will nice to play very well against them and win convincingly. That is the game plan because I dare say that those two teams are going to be a part of the final four and we will come up against them in the semi-final or the final if we play well enough," McGrath said about the two big games before the semi-finals.
Nishant Arora: It must be a transition phase for Australia with Shane Warne and you retiring and passing the baton to youngsters like Shaun Tait and Michael Johnson. How good you feel when you see the youngsters taking up the responsibility so well?
Glenn McGrath: It makes me feel very good. That's the whole idea and hopefully I can pass on some ideas to guys coming through and they can perform well. I guess Australian team have got a good mix of senior players and young players and with the young guys coming in to learn from some of the players in the Australian team there can be no better foundation to your career and hopefully the young guys can learn.
Nishant Arora: Do you get emotional as this is the last tournament you are playing?
Glenn McGrath: No, not yet. I am still enjoying every minute of it and trying to make the most if it. Things are going well for me as I'm bowling well and taking wickets, winning games. I am focusing on the next game and hopefully be there for the final. And I think we will win and then maybe I can get a bit emotional.
Nishant Arora: The icing on the cake will be having a hat-trick of World Cup and you will be a part of all the three.
Glenn McGrath: Yes, I have been lucky in my career to have been involved in four World Cups. If we make to the final this time then we will be making to the final in all four. In the first final in 1996 we were beaten but since them we have done OK. So it will be great to win and finish my career.
