It’s a shame to have opening bowlers who can’t even face up to one over at the grease while batting, however good they are in their bowling. Moreover, the Indian fast bowlers don’t even make the grade in their bowling stint as well, when one compares them to bowlers in other teams. They shouldn’t be in the team in the first place. It boils down to playing with nine men instead of eleven. Besides having no fast bowlers, inconsistency, low confidence level, withering under pressure are the reasons for India’s poor performance especially against formidable Australia.

I believe that the writer is more Indian than any other of those who believes India will fare better in Australia. Even in the last tour India failed to win the series against a relatively weaker bowling attack. Yes there were some good scores here and there but you need to understand that in a test match getting 20 wickets is very important. India missed a chance against a depleted bowling attack like that of Pakistan. They could have prepared some sporting tracks, and who knows with Zaheer Khan in good form and spinners assisting well the result could be 2-0 atleast. Again agreeing to what writer says, Indian batsmen will have problems.

i M SORRY 2 SAY THIS BUT MR.RAJSHEKHAR,YOU SEEM TO BE TOO MUCH OBSESSED WITH THE TYPICAL INDIAN TENDENCY OF BELITTLING OUR OWN ACHIEVEMENTS & GLORIFYING THOSE OF THE SO CALLES PERFECTIONIST FOREIGNERS(READ AUSTRALIA).JAFFER HAS PERFORMED WELL ON SEAMING ENGLISH TRACKS & WHAT''S THE HARM IN SCORING RUNS ON HELPFUL HOME TRACKS,IF THEY ARE SO.PERFORMING IN AUSTRALIA IS NOT THE SOLE CRITERIA TO BECOMING A GOOD BATSMAN.IN 2001,RICKY PONTING FAILES MISERABLY AGAINST INDIA IN AN AWAY SERIES BUT CAN ANYODY DARE SAY THAT HE ISN''T THE BEST BATSMAN IN THE WORLD.TO BE AGOOD PLAYER,YOU SHOULD PERFORM CONSISTENTLY ON ALL SURFACES,HOME OR AWAY,AS PONTING AND EVEN JAFFER HAS DONE.IF JAFER BATS WELL IN AUS,GOOD BUT EVEN IF HE DOESN''T,FINE ENOUGH.HE''S DONE WELL IN ENGLAND,SOUTH AFRICA,WEST INDIES AND INDIA,& THAT''S PROOF ENOUGH OF HIS CAPABILITIES.

I think there is nothing pessimistic about what Rajshekhar said. He is a realist and not a pessimist. There has never been any confidence about the way Indian batsmen when they face quality pace bowling on bouncy tracks. Most of the heroic stories about our performances in Australia speak only of survivors without any mention to the terrible number of chances they survived. Let''s grow up and face reality like it is.The so called technique of our batsmen appears faultless only on subcontinent pitches but they got to reflect that same confidence and technique in hostile pitches to stand up and be counted as men....

I dont think after a good performance in England, you should criticize the openers like that. They do gel together quite well with Kartick the agressor and Jaffer the more defensive player. Give them a chance to prove their mettle before going all over them like that.

CUT THE CRAP, DO YOU EXPECT AUSTRALIANS WOULD GIVE US A SPINNERS TRACK, SO WHAT IS WRONG IN HAVE THAT IN OUR PLACE. WHY IS THAT YOU GUYS ALWAYS SAY THAT ONLY BOUNCY TRACKS ARE THE BEST.

I believe that C RAJSHEKHAR-author is much concerned about batsman religion instead of skills and success in the field. What else author expects from opening batsman who scored double century twice in recent past and proved to be successfully in bouncy english pitches.Come-on,see only players skill and performance not their background before putting something on public.

If what is written is to be believed - why should any Indian batsmen play in the current test series against Pakistan? Whats the point of scoring runs on Indian pitches if that is not going to help in Australia. Seems that current scores of Indian batsmen are NOT to be counted officially!!! As also the results? Doesnt the word ''confidence'' mean anything? Well all big players stress on ''confidence'', so they must be wrong and the writer here must be right (?). Why give so much over the top importance to Australia series? Arent the other series played anywhere any less important? If Jaffer makes a big score in Perth - will he gain the tag of best batsman of all time? This is irrelavant - isnt it? This is a problem with such journos, they will be the first one to write off ''own'' players, writing such stuff - the guy has had a double 100 - not everyone does it everyday or every test - give him his due - right so Pakistan is fighting with two guys and almost on verge of saving the Kolkata game - so would their 100 - be less important? Pooh...need better topic..right?

You seems to be like to bring attention towards you by giving such reversal comments on player who is doing well. I would say POOR ATTEMP TO MAKE FOCUS ON YOURSELF.
