India''s record in Australia on the so called "good" pitches that you talk about is way better than South Africa''s. India recently hammered Australia in Perth. Or was that a "poor" pitch too? Look, the fact of the matter is that this Indian team raises it''s game against the best and can sometimes be inconsistent against the rest. South Africa, on the other hand can be consistent against lesser teams but crumbles under pressure from the best. I know Mr. Kallis is not going to agree but the truth is that the South Africans, unlike the Indians, suffer from an inferiority comples while facing Australia. I''m sorry, but you guys still choke. Period.

Gopal, I believe Saqlain had 24 wickets at under 21 in three test matches in India. He played just one test against them afterwards when he was forced to play when unfit and that remains his last appearance to date.

Mr.Kallis, just bring stats that how many spin bowlers were successful in SA like fast bowlers were in india for last decade?there is no doubt fast bowlers r more successful in india rather spin bowler in SA.by the way ur so called traditionalist thinking in pitches doesn''t apply for wickets in SA.where all the pitches r one dimensional with ball swinging, bouncing all for 5 days.just except that SA r poor players on spinning wickets.where as Australia is far better than SA where they did beat india in india and srilanka in srilanka just few years ago.

Mr Kallis forgot that their openers were going strong against our pacers and spinners on day 1.May be they took our bowling lightly and paid for it.Also they had the option of bringing Johan Botha, the offie. The stragies of their feeble minded coach and skipper let them down in the 3rd test.

Kallis, your team also had a spinner, right??? Did the Indian batsmen get out to him!! They would not get out to your bowling, even iff you bowl offspin :))) I dare to say, that we Indians play Spin the best!!! Remember Muralidharan, Qadir, Saqlain or the great Warne -- Their averages are highest against Indians! Pls accept that YOU GUYS DO NOT PLAY SPIN WELL... learn from Sourav, Laxman if you dont want that level, then even from Ishant Sharma or Sreeshanth! Thanks.

Ganguly and Laxman do not practise in Kanpur every day! Not even every year! They played just as well in SA, in Ozz, in England and in Kanpur. There is a world of difference between Brisbane, Johannesburg and Kanpur. Just take lessons from Saurav and Laxman on what they are good at.

Needless to say that Kallis is trying to be at his diplomatic best in this article. He is simply fuming at the kind of wicket they got and in his heart of hearts he puts his team''s defeat on the kanpur pitch. Of course I''m being too judgmental here :). Kallis a player of callibre and honor and commands great deal of respect all round the world. what he says here has an important message. We need to have good tracks at least for our domestic matches so that our young cricketers are bred on those. Its ok if we want to take an additional edge by sporting dust bowls to visitors, but then there should be a mandate on having good tracks for domestic games. Kallis tried putting this subtlety but I guess most of the readers can figure out the irk he has within :).
