Sledging/misbehaviour can be controlled using yellow/red card rules that are being used in football/hockey. An umpire should have the control for using that. Neutral umpiring is ofcourse required for this.

make it mandatory for each player to wear microphone which will be monitored by ICC. players should not be allowed to talk to rival teams during match. let technology be used as is used for run out.

Its not sledging that is maligning the gentlemans game cricket but the officals or the umpires[ on field, third umpire and match refree] and above all administration[ ICC and its member countries] that is ruining the good name of cricket. How? when officals give different punishment for same offence a lot of hue and cry is justificably made.Just see when Magrath abuses or stares its ok but when shrishant or harbhajan do the same fine is imposed. One can find dozens of such incidents. Why this happen? Very simple the facial expression of sub continent players are different from player of european origin and cultural difference are there too; in other words The facial expression of Indian sub continet player looks a little over bored too look at because of biological and cultural reasons thats why the punishment. Solution is very simple just make the match refree and umpires attune to various factors to like facil expression culture and abuses which one don`t find insulting and most important off all the sub continent offical should be told that by by wrongly punishing sub continet player they are not doing there duty honestly just for the sake of being honest .

This is total bull, sledging should be easy enough to eliminate. Slap suspensions (matches or minutes) on the players and they will shut up an dplay the game. Let us not justify by saying that sledging is part and parcel of the game. Ya right! Except that game is not cricket.

It is too late now. They shd have done that when Aussies, the real culprits behind this ,were initially allowed to get away with anything including abuses. NOw, they can punish any offensive talk by any member of any team.Normal xchanges need not be given much importance. Having said that, there is a change in the behaviour of the Aussies after Sydney test.If the ICC enforces this amt of discipline it is good for the game and players.

the sledging is part and parcel of the game, so its should be taken in the right spirit not the one which leads to teh fall out of many controversies

With modern technology, with electronic equipment embedded inside or below the stumps, it should be possiblke to record all the verbal exchanges that might take place around the wickets and use them for for examining if any complaints are lodged by the players. If any baseless complaints are lodged, the punishments on the complainants could be equally punitive.

Cool column, bhai. How do you stop a TV chatshow that gets overheated and with overexcited participants? BCCI are again plucking at straws. Football is supposed to be a non-contact sport. But the language is far worse than in cricket.
