Durai Dr Narottam had perhaps slept when Ponting or Aussies apoke after their loss in Perth, though even there two decisions whent against them, which could have eventually impacted the way the result went.
Ponting criticised their own batting in their first innings and congratulated India on their win, and never cited about the two decisions that went, worngly, against Australia.
Contrast this with how Kumble and perhaps the whole of India reacted and what was done to umpire Bucknor.
You know who are bad losers. We were not just bad but poor and low.
Let us remember our own poor record before pointing fingers, inappropriately, at others ( Posted: Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 20:13 )
varadharajan Dr will u pl write a article about the Tie match between Australi and India held at Chennai during 1986 ( Posted: Saturday , April 05, 2008 at 11:10 )
Kalyan I have followed Dr. Narottam Puri''s commentary from the 80s. His knowledge of the game is tremendous. Very well written article among a lot of garbage one reads these days. ( Posted: Saturday , April 05, 2008 at 05:07 )
vikram Bhajji seems to have a side, which I wasnt aware. I thank Mr. Puri of showing us this side.
Until now, I felt Bhajji was being targeted by Australians. But now I realise that Bhajji is surely an obnoxious weed. I wont be surprised if he is suspended again. It seems he can never learn. ( Posted: Friday , April 04, 2008 at 16:30 )
SAMARPITSHUKLA WHY HARBAJAN NOT COME IN ( Posted: Thursday , April 03, 2008 at 13:02 )
N.S. Gopalan Dear Sir,
Modern day cricketer like Harbajan Singh are always seen as troublesome and irritating character by the opposition in as much as the player always poses a threat to the batsman''s free performance on the field. That is the reason why top team like Australia wanted to put pressure on him on and off the field. It is not a surprise that both the media and watching public supported the home team''s cause genuinely. However I would like to add quickly that his antics and personal verbal exchanges with individual players are totally unwarranted and uncalled for. Afterall cricket is considered to be a gentleman game with discipline embedded to the game. But the present generation of cricketers lured with loads of money and media attention need to be told by the administraters that they do not cross the '' Laxman Rekha ''.

vik Damn, you should definitely be writing more about the present cricket than the bygone eras Doc.Engrossing article! Mostly because of the psychological and cultural influence.Yeah, he might be brash and on the face , but we mustn''t forget that he is a product of under 19 cricket, much like yuvi , where they had to be extremely competitive right from their younger days to survive against the sledging from teams like Oz and England even at that level and that gets carried into the international (senior) cricket as a guard and later as a habit. If I am not mistaken ,you''d see the same attitude when Virat Kohli starts playing for India(seniors). And yeah , the fact that Aussies are troubled by the spinners only makes the likes of Bhajji ,murali and other spinner''s action suspect, lol. But you should definitely stick to writing more about modern cricket!! more Prince harbhajan is probably the perfect modern cricketer. he is aggresive, not scared of anyone and if someone says something to him, he says something back. these traits are becoming far more important in the modern game as sledging is becoming a big part of the game ( Posted: Tuesday , April 01, 2008 at 04:36 )
