It is challenge to Dravid in second test to prove his caliber as a batsman who can adjust and adopt in opening the innings like Shewag and Karthik had done inspite of middle order batsmen when they were forced to open at country`s interest. Till now Dravid had proved that he is gutless and out of form to take this challenge. He should understand this is the only way he will remain in India team otherwise, Vengsarkar will show him the door after return from Australia.

Why the indian team cannot try the sachin-saurav combo for the opening slot and let dravid bat at his usual no.3 position. Also include pathan. He is a good all-rounder.Drop Wasim Jaffer

today master blaster did not blast or tiger did not roar..where was superstars when team require their service blabbering so much in front of media…. what about failure of jaffer, laxman dhoni yuvraj and harbjan wktless???? Here no other Indian batsman is ready to open, cos they all are under tremendous pressure even playing in their regular slot, but not Dravid. Dravid is the savior not only for Indian cricket and to other Indian batsmen too. A failure of gamble for kumble as dravid failed as opener now ppl are already screaming against dravid. . He has never been selfish towards his position and game make ganguly and tendulkar open batting against aussies in tests and also make them bat in five diff positions in five odis then see the differnce in scoring strikerate. ..why everytime dravid should made scapegoatkar and none of player is coming forward to open innings to accommodate yuvraj. If ganguly & te Opening against fast and accurate bowling on hard bouncy pitches in aus conditions will be a tough task for any batsman . it will be a challenge to even Jaffer As a professional team player dravid he accepted challenge If he fails he will be out of test team also He is well aware of chief selector has an agenda against him.( Already out of odi team after just five bad innings. (Harbajan was wktless in six matches still he playing odi )

Rahul
Come on, are you sleep-walking? Replacing Rahul-''The Wall'', that too, in a test match is like putting the carriage before the horse! Given that he would not score as frantically as Sehwag does but he would certainly provide one thing - rock-solid cover in the face of a hostile Oz bowling! Look at the stats, he has always been at the helm of the affairs in invariably all of India''s wins eversince he became a part of Indian Cricket. And, I personally see no reason asto why he shan''t be the architect of yet another Indian win. To quote the great Gavaskar:Form is fickle, Class is permanent. Dravid is among those few players who live upto the import of this cliche. His class, his impeccable technique, unshakable composure and commitment shall spur him to tide over this precarious phase. And, you bet he''ll do that in style...such style that it will leave the critics flummoxed and Oz dumbfounded..! Mark my words.

Rahul is one of the greatest test cricketer of all time, there is no question on his ability against the new ball, infact recently when India is facing problem with openers, vertually he has to come to open the innings almost in every game.I am very confident about his show.

MADHU
RAHUL IS AGREAT BATSMAN THE WORLD HAS SEEN. NOT ONLY IN TEST OR INTERNATIONAL CRICKET HE HAS A ENVIABLE SCORING AVERAGE HIS 239 FIRST CLASS MATCHES HE HAS SCORED AT AN AVERAGE OF 57 PLUS. IN TESTS HE IS HAVING THE HIGHEST AVERAGE THAN ANY OTHER INDIAN BATSMAN. HE HAS SCORED FIVE DOUBLE CENTURIES TO HIS CREDIT. ON THE VERGE OF COMPLETING 10000 RUNS IN BOTH FORMS OF CRICKET. AS A CAPTAIN HE HAS WON A SERIES AGAINST WEST INDIES AND ENGLAND. WON A TEST MATCH IN SOUTH AFRICA. STILL WHY THIS ENEMITY WHEN RAHUL''S NAME COMES. HE HAS PLAYED 94 TESTS WITHOUT BEING DROPPED OR INJURED WHICH ITSELF IS PROOF OF HIS FITNESS. HE HAS TAKEN MORE NOS OF CATCHES THAN ANYBODY IN FIRST SLIP WHICH IS A PROOF OF HIS AGILITY WHILE FIELDING. HE HAS CONTRIBUTED A MAJOR SHARE AFTER KUMBLE IN ALL INDIAN VICTORIES. YUVRAJ OR DHONI ARE INSTANT CRICKETERS SHOT IN TO SUCCESS VERY FAST AND ARE GIOING TO FADE THAT FAST. JUST FOR WRITING DONOT WRITE BAD OR SILLY ON GREAT CRICKETERS LIKE SACHIN SAURAV OR DRAVID. IT HURTS A LOT TO THE CRICKET LOVING AND KNOWLEDGEBLE FANS THAN THE PLAYERS. YOU PEOPLE HAVE DUMPED SAURAV A YEAR BACK AND NOW HEAPING PRAISES. DO YOU HAVE ANY ETHICS IN YOUR LIFE WHY DO YOU FOOL AROUND US.

If dravid does not do well as an opener then he will be dropped!! Preposterous thing to say. Its not his fault if he fails as an opener - he dint ask to do it! Being a team man that he is, he can never say no to anything. Even Kumble has started to exploit Rahul''s nature and thats the sad part. No doubt we need Yuvi but then opener''s job is a specialist''s job. Dravid is already short on confidence and runs a high risk in getting out early on in the innings as an opener. I only hope and pray that this move does not have a negative impact on Rahul and his career.

Balasubramanian
Let us not bounce on the author. Poor guy, he does not know cricket. Probably, he is a football critic or his name is Vengsarkar and not Rajasekar. My reply is quite simple. If you drop Dravid from Test Cricket, India can better stop playing cricket. Mr.Rajasekar, you better come down to Kilpauk in chennai where we have a good mental hospital or stop writing articles on cricket. Regards, Balasubramanian

If you drop Dravid, then who the hell will save India from the dying situatios? It has always been Dravid''s knock that has saved India when it matter the most. Never ever has Tendulkar and Ganguly shown that level of supremacy. "The Wall" has always been the vital part of this team and ignoring his contribution can lead this team to no where. I agree that Dravid didn''t shine much in the Pak Series; then so what. Tendulkar didn''t do so for last 3 years... Shewag has been total failure in recent times.. N Ganguly who has been in form of his life had pathetic seasons for as long as 2 years.. Guys, think before u write.. Dravid is a man whom this team needs. ODI may not be the game where he fits but he is the best batsman India has produced in the recent time.... a man who has always sacrificed for his team.

I don''t really understand how you think that Rahul Dravid''s place in the Indian Test team is in doubt!!! Which sport were you following all these years-football? Mate, go home and learn something about ''Test Cricket''. Better still, switch to writing about football.
