Observer A captain is not necessarily to be judged by the results - take Pataudi for example - he was a fantastic "leader" who fitted every meaning the term carries - and yet did not achieve great results.
Results have a tendency to fall into a ''wave'' pattern ...and he is lucky to be riding a wave.

Ugen I don''t agree with Sandip Patil. He seems to flow with the tide. Dhoni is doing well, so he is backing Dhoni for now. Yes, its good for the captain to back his team but don''t harp about the youngsters and create this senior-junior issue. A team is a team irrespective of seniors or juniors and truly speaking it was senior player Sachin''s performance in the finals that got India the CB series. Why make a big deal of the CB series win? England accomplished the same feat a year ago inspite of not having a strong team. Seven months is too brief a period to judge Dhoni''s captaincy. Play Fair Well Mr. Patil you wont understand how disgraceful it is for someone like Dravid or Ganguly becoz you cant even dream of what they have achieved in thier life. Dhoni, the most over rated batsman in world, he doesnt know how to hold bat and he is critisizing Dravid, Ganguly and Great Sachin.....Dude go and learn first how to hold bat. Its just becoz team is doinin good noone wants to see the arrogance of your, noone care if you insult these palyers.....but sucess always follow by failure (Ganguly case is best example, he made come-back becoz he knows how to bat)and that day Mr Patil, BCCI and Media would write off........so Mr Dhoni come to ground and give due respect to these greats of cricket....you have not done even .001% of what they done for this Country... anyways....no one with common sense can deny dhoni''s arrogance.
he is the most cunning cricketer i have ever seen...he is a curse to indian cricket.that''s all.if he had the talent.....okay..his arrogance would have been pardoned.but look at the way he plays....he is a damn worst test player i have seen.and still he is in team,,,,,just due to the huge market money....poured in his name!!!how can anybody deny this fact?? Anand Prakasha I agree with Sandip Patil''s views. Dhoni being captain of the team should have freedom of expression of his choice. Tell me, how many Indian captains within short span of 7 months of selection have produced such a great result.As you can derive from Chak De India, its" NIYAT( INTENTION)" which is the more required than anything else from players to win a big match.Dhoni was made captain when other seniors were not ready to take the responsibility.He was offered captiancy at the most difficult time of Indian cricket for the most difficult tour.So we should not be critical if he takes the credit for the success.Had we laost the game, it would have been different sttory

V.Sivaram Dhoni appears very arrogant.Even before he entered the team people like Dravid and ganguly had done yeomen service to the copuntry.Dravid has always put his team first-prepared to open,keep wickets,bat lowerdown the order.Oh what a value he has brought to the team and here comes a person basking in the glory of a ODI series win and insulting people like Dravid.Hope this done spill into a srious divide between seniors and juniors and affects our overall performance.
