Born on: November 8, 1976 in New South Wales

Teams represented: Australia and New South Wales.

Specalist: Right arm fast bowler and an effective right hand (lower order) batsman.

Profile: One of the fastest bowlers in the world, who has tasted success in both Test and ODI format, the ever-smiling Brett Lee is considered as the prime attraction in the Mohali team who will be paying him 900,000 US Dollars per year.

A team man to the core, Lee has taken 271 Test wickets (best: five for 30 in an innings and eight for 112 in a match) off 65 matches conceding 8123 runs with five for 30 being his best. He has also bagged 186 wickets from 169 One-Day games conceding 6253 runs with five for 22 as his best figures.

Lee, who is very popular in India apart from his own country, made his Test debut against India at Mebourne in December 1999 while he played his first ODI match against Pakistan at Brisbane in January 2000.

In the 12 Twenty20 matches so far, after making his debut against New Zealand in Auckland on February 17, he has taken 12 wickets conceding 308 runs from 265 balls with three for 27 being his best for an economy rate of 6.97.

Lee, the main strike bowler in the strong Aussie attack, has also got 1184 Test runs with 64 as his highest for an average of 20.77 and a strike rate of 54.56 and another 775 runs from 79 innings with 57 as his highest in One-Dayers for a strike rate of 80.31.

With his hard-hitting batting and genuine pace he is considered as a very important player in the shortest version of the game and his tussle with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and his skipper Ricky Ponting (Kokata) will be a much awaited feast to the cricket loving public of this country.
