Aussies favourites, India dark horses

The air is rife with speculation as the countdown to the World Cup begins. Team combinations, likely upsets and probable semi-finalists have become the daily staple of conversations. We have decided to fan the debate by assessing the top eight teams on a scale of 1 – 10. The purpose of this exercise is to arrive at the four potential semi-finalists based on their recent form and prowess in batting, bowling, fielding, captaincy, balance, mental toughness, adaptability, recent record and support staff. Eahsan Sahil I think india has a good chance to win world cup 2007. The batting line up in indian team is great & Mostly are in good form, After return of Zaheer Khan Bowling attack is also Good. India has a good Wicketkeeper Batsmen Dhoni & Good Allrounder Irfan Pathan, So I think India win this world cup. And the condition in West Indies also suit indian. So best of Luck to Indian Team . panneerselvam I think indian team have a great chance to win the world cup.Because we compare to another team batsmans and bowlers indians now have a better comeback from biglose against southafrica at southafrica. Particularly dravid, ganguly, sachin, dhoni are now great form. Finally shewag and yuvraj both the players are also had done a good job against srilanka. Bowlers zaheer, munaf, agarkar, srisanth are fired accurately against westindies and srilanka. So that success will give more confidence to play good cricket in westindies. jeeves I doubt the bowling clicking for India this world cup, but the hopes of the whole country will lie on how the batsman play their game. Irespective of weather the team bats first or chases, it''s upto the batsman to pull it off for us. It does look a strong batting line up on paper, but can the men proove that in reality.? BUT the fact that it looks strong on paper is coz, they have prooved it in the past. So having my fingers crossed for India. The man for India is Ganguly. virendra onkar Ours is a balanced team in all respect provided it clicks at the right time. Lets hope for the best. Nobody talkes about the westindies pitches. ronak analysis is fine...but i dont think it matters so much when teams play a big tournament like this....for example south africa always has great numbers on board but when it comes to such tournaments ..everyone knows.....i think newzealand, southafrica, westindies and india will reach semifinal...i think aussies will miss the top slot...lets see... cricketfirst in the above - team spirit,form,fitness and confidence level has to be taken to account. with the above is taken to account, India wud come to 2nd place as per your calculations. So it wud be a finals between, Newzealand and India. Australia is an aged lion with some lost teeth. Southafrica''s confidence level is very low in Worldcups. If the same form continues for Saurav, Sachin, Yuvraj,Dravid, Dhoni - the balance tilts in favour of India. Ultimately form and fitness will decide.
