Even after 25 long years memories of the World Cup win in 1983 are still fresh in the minds of the Indian players who were part of the team.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Syed Kirmani was at the other end when Kapil Dev blasted Zimbabwe away for a glorious 175 during a league match at Tunbridge Wells on June 18, 1983.

For Sunil Gavaskar, the moment Indian skipper Kapil Dev lifted the Prudential World Cup will remain etched in his mind while the wicket of Sir Viv Richards turned the tide for India in the final is the most memorable moment for Madan Lal. After all he was the bowler.

Beating the mighty West Indies in the first game was the boost the team needed and Yashpal Sharma's man-of-the-match performance is his personal favourite.

Kirti Azad talks about the 'magic' ball that got Ian Botham in the semi-final match and vice-captain Mohinder Amarnath can't erase the memory of his captain receiving the winners trophy at Lord's.
