is Bcci capable of making aright decosion. Think about the fact that we chose gres instead of moody. we go by name and not substance. i think dave whatmore is a known commodity and is past his best before date. we need some one who is able to strategise and think differently. it is better is we have some body who is new to internatiuonal arena. vishy, robin singh from india and why not try some bdy from south africa who is not coached any national teams? south african plus are their hardwork, fielding and intensity, all the three is lacking in our team which is abundant in talent.dravid is only a ordinary captain. we need a coach who could think and plan fieling positions specific for certain batsman. i never recall a speicific feilding position employed by an indian captain, like mahela or ponting does, even fleming does it.For eg. a staight midon just next to the umpire. pray to god that some one with fresh ideas and a clear thinking is appointed as indian coach. what else can we do. best is to have no coach... just give the players fielding instructors, physios, and visits by former players to help on techniques from time to time.... leave all the major strategy makin to the captain... dravid sachin ganguly kumble are experienced enough to do what is necessary.... also i really think that lot of people are trying to be selectors which is not right... greg chappell wants a say in the selection why???? he is to coach the players he gets thats his job.... a lot of clarity is needed from the bcci as to what they want the coach to do.... i think its very simple make ranji trophy a tournament of just 5 zones... so that the best players are playing against each other.... when some one makes runs or takes wickets the selectors who should be paid can see that the player is playing against the best and succeeding so the guy can be selected. today we select a player and bring him in the team... than we discover that this guy is not right for international cricket.. by that time he has lost a few matches for us.... selectors select a team and the captain should make the best of what he gets.... and dont have a coach just give the captain the support staff and let the players gel.... no administrators in the dressing room.... whoever the new coach is one thing is to be made sure that he does not communicate via sms or e-mails. Whatever he has to say to the media he must say in the open in front of the cameras. if he doesnt have the balls to say that than he might as well keep his mouth shut. Frankly i dont think greg chappell's intentions were bad but he could never relate to our team. First things first this is india and not australia... stop expecting that everyone will be as athletic as australia... How can we expect this if the youngsters never get a good place to play and to dive. I m from Bharuch from where munaf patel comes... munaf is the worst indian fielder with a capital W. but as a matter of fact Bharuch does not have a proper cricket ground the only good ground with lawn in our city belongs to a private company, so largely everyone plays on sand, mud or anything but lawns.... the bcci is smart to turn the blame on adv commitments of the players... lets just take one thing at a time and ask what is the bcci doing for development of cricket in india and the youngsters in india.... Today india's new ball bowler comes from Bharuch. Does the bcci have any standing in Bharuch do they have any employee forget bout a ground. Bharuch is a population of 5 lakh plus. Forget Bharuch... Take Baroda... Vinoo Mankad, Anshuman Gaekwad, Irfan, Zaheer, Kiran More, Nayan Mongia are all from Baroda... does the bcci have a ground in this city.... that has given so many cricketers to india.... no they use the ipcl stadium that now belongs to reliance... When the bcci is not willing to do anything for the players... or cricket... how can they stop them from legally earning the money.??? and the bcci is sittin on money which comes only because of these players... if i were sachin or ganguly i would just get with all players and just tell bcci we are not playing for you and just join zee super league and than just watch the bcci... the players cannot be treated like this ... its unacceptable(Posted: April 19, 2007, 1:02 pm)

first we have to change are selection system..Having a indian or a foreign coach is not the issue it just to provide a dicipline and unity among the team..we should stop contradicting on issues of coach..at this level u need to polish the crickters..acheving this level u have passed through different coaching manuals..(Posted: April 12, 2007, 10:19 am)

the first choice of a foreign coach should go to Dave Whatmore if he is interested in taking it up since he is experienced with the sub continent teams. if the BCCI insist on an indian coach then the choice would be between Ravi Shastri and Amarnath. no one else looks like they can handle the pressure & rigours of the Crazy INDIAN MEDIA AND CROWDS(Posted: April 7, 2007, 2:34 pm)

Here we go again! The powers that be of Indian cricket BCCI has done it again Most of the members on the committee have never played any cricket and have been at tne most spectators. Once again they have taken a shotgun approach of appointing a choach and a manager without much thought, What India needs is a thinking coach. He must surround himself first with assistants that will do the team good. He needs mental coach, strength and workout coaches ( again these should include biomechanic experts, motion coaches etc)this will help player develop and strengthen those areas of the body per their position on the field. I agree fully with Greg Chappell that strenght and conditioning of the team is a must. Its not who is going to be the next coach, but in the interest of long term improvement of TEAM INDIA, give up the shot gun approach, appoint a person who submits the best plan to take the team forward.(Posted: April 7, 2007, 1:25 pm)
