F K COOPER This is consequnent to the very very poor home work done by the wise men of BCCI. Their logic was, we are wise so no need of home work. Besides who cares, wether players are not paid for over half a year or the coach is not selected for one year, BCCI is supreme & not answer able to any body, chaltahai. Fans should take note of this arrogance & teach the BCCI a lesson in professionalism and accountability, but for that we need unity. Are we prepared to boycott the tours of Australia & Pakistan, let them play with empty stands & see how the high handedness/arrogance/we care two hoots for the fans attitude of BCCI will fall by the way side, any takers? Let us stand up and be counted. ( Posted: Sunday , June 17, 2007 at 18:59 )
hbsuharsh Very well said Veera. It is certainly unprofessional what Graham Ford did! If the circumstances - Kent, his wife''s illness etc - stated by Ford had occured after his interview it was understandable, but he had stock of the situation before itself. I am happy that we didn''t get an unprofessional coach as this guy. ( Posted: Friday , June 15, 2007 at 17:41 )
Krishna Undoubtedly, I disagree with the article. Regardless of the type of job no one in their right mind would accept a position just because an employer is offering one. The method chosen by Mr.Ford to come all the way from England for a job interview itself shows the commitment towards cricket coaching. For the so called high profile job opening at BCCI, a one year contract offer seem oxymoron. It appears that BCCI coaching position is a trap to anyone. What matters the most is how can anyone blame the adviser if the student does not excel in their endeavors. Perhaps a closer look amongst the players character on the field and attitude towards the game yield better results. In my opinion besides everything, a periodic psychiatric evaluation of the players should be mandated. ( Posted: Thursday , June 14, 2007 at 17:54 )
bwar Pathetic article. Everyone has a right to do what they want until they sign the piece of paper called a "Contract" . It is the BCCI which is unprofessional by announcing Ford as coach before he even signed. And then we have BCCI officials pretending to be so "naive" . And to make matters worse we have stupid articles like this..... ( Posted: Thursday , June 14, 2007 at 09:27 )
Prasanna Taking a job interview does not mean one has to accept the job if offered a position. Just like the prospective employer has a choice of accepting or rejecting a candidate after the interview, the candidate also has an equal right of accepting or rejecting a job offer. This is perfectly appropriate and I just cannot see any semblance of unprofessionalism here. If, on the other hand, had Ford signed the contract and later went back on his words by not taking up the job, THEN AND ONLY THEN it is unprofessional, unethical, inappropriate or whatever adjective you would like to use. I guess Ford is perfectly within his rights to reject the job offer.

Journalism is a powerful media. Please don''t misuse that power to write just about anything you feel. If anything, you have only publicly embarrassed yourself with this senseless piece that you call an article. Shame on you Mr. Veerakumar. ( Posted: Thursday , June 14, 2007 at 04:34 )
cricketlover This is the most stupid article I have read on the topic. In the real life, if we want a particular job then we show the interest by sending the resume then we go meet the people in the company and do our own assessments as to if its the right choice. If we think that we will not be happy with the job then we politely refuse the offer and move on and that is exactly what Ford has done. Why it is unprofessional. If BCCI was so foolish to announce his name even before he could go back and confirm the acceptance then what Ford can do about it. ( Posted: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 23:15 )
Pankaj I do agree with you Mr Kumar. Somehow our users like critical articles that point to of our own rather than a foreigner. Here is the bottomline - Mr. Ford should not have applied for the job he wasnt interested in. Ford had rejected the offer right after being selected. No new reason must''ve come up for his rejection in that short span of time. And even if it did - its a matter of contract - why cant Ford come up and give us the reason for his rejection? That is a fair question, isnt it? ( Posted: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 23:02 )
zakir Mr Ford will eventually accept to coach team india in a couple of months.BCCI will be more than glad to welcome him.If Mr Ford would have been an Indian the mattar would have been totally different. ( Posted: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 22:48 )
Guru Ford has every right to reject, i think the reason was what happened in the meeting does the committee member questions was arrogant and does he was put too much restriction?. only BCCI can answer this i do not blame ford. this happen because of the unprofessional behavior of BCCI ( Posted: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 16:06 )
