SRS please get honest!!! Its not tat u want to give youngsters a chance but ur inability to play the high intense 20-20 match format for u to opt out.

my dear friend u are speaking as if it takes great talent to play 20-20 cricket.any ordinary batsman can swash his bat on such flat pitches and hit sixes.it doesnt neeed an srs to do it.
the real test for a cricketer is test cricket and u must feel happy that they have taken the right call.

So called the big 3(sachin,dravid and ganguly) not playing 20-20 world cup saying that they prefer giving a chance to youngsters is a big joke.My question is if they are ready to give chance to youngsters why not for one day series or a test series. The reason is they pretty well know tht they are not good for 20-20 and that too being a world cup and they must be aware that we dont even stand a remote chance of winning the cup and that is the only reason iam sure they have opted out of the world cup. They must be aware if they were to participate and indians are out in the initial stages then they will in for some big problem and that is the reason they stepped out....The real test for these guys would be an Australian series and if they could pull up a victory there then we can be really proud of our guys....Even this England side looks a depleted one and iam sure these guys can win the series..so Jha dont get over excited if we get to win the series

nice to read someone being unbashedly positive about Indian cricket. Certainly a rare point of view.

Dear Mr, Jha. This is the first time I have felt that you have written something sensible and intelligent. Keep it up. Hope you will not fall back to your usual nonsensical stuff in your next article.

Nice to read your blog after a Sabbatical...and the site has undergone drastic changes as well! I agree India will play it''s heart out this series...the marrows cavities of my skeleton are also bubbling with such energetic hope. It remains to be seen if it is just yet another instance of an Indian cricket fan''s mistaken boiling over. I''m not privy to conversations between the board and players, and between the players, but I''d like to imagine SRS''s opting out is as you suggest and not following a secret tinkle from their boardmasters into their individual ears....there are always alternate channels of communication in the Indian set-up earmarked "for your ears only!"

Mr. Jha, Maybe i am cynical - but why are the 3G''s one now - because they kicked after the debacle - which they are responsible. A hollow victory against BD will never erase the world cup disaster that the 3 participated in. They better play well in england or they can join the ranks sehwag.

Excellent Mr. Jha.. You just spoke out the words of my heart.. SRS has still got a lot to give to Indian cricket and its lovers .. I, being an ardent lover of India and Indian cricket, stay in London due to my profession. However, I am waiting for the 19th of June when I shall proudly go to Lords to watch our beloved SRS - those 3 men who made us proud on sooo many occasions in the past, and I am sure that they will repeat their feats again during this English summer. Thanks Mr. Jha for the article.. you do write from your heart!

Dear Jha, Why are you wasting the golden opportunities to ask relevant, mind probing questions to the people/BCCI through your column. You are wasting your chance by talking about issues which do not matter at all. Please do not waste theses opportunities. I would like you to think about/ask BCCI about relevant, important things like: 1. When are we going to see professional, unbiased cricket selectors as promised by the BCCI. 2. When are going to see a Coach for the team. What is the time line, or is there one for the BCCI? 3. What happened to pay for performance for the cricketers? why is BCCI *** scared about implementing this? 4. Whart is the role of NCA in helping cricket in India? What is its contribution so far?

Finally you are back on track Mr Jha. Good article. Sachin Rahul and Sourav are true legends and they will indeed play for at least 3-4 more years of Test cricket. The fitness definitely suggests so.
