Rajeev Selectors are not learning from mistakes They still are obsessed with Sauarav,Sachin,Sehwag and Dravid All these players have to rest for limited overs game there is enough young talent knocking at the doors The match winner Murli kartik is dropped for Sehwag who have only increased his physical weight and added no talent He is finished as a Cricketer so have Sachin,Saurav and Dravid Pete Sampras was ruling the Tennis world He is no more everything has a life so are talented players why stretch them beyond their capacity ( Posted: Thursday , November 08, 2007 at 14:46 )

Nirmal Veera,

This is a very good article from you.I would certainly agree with your point on Badrinath vs Rohit Sharma Selection.

Of course, there is no logic in having a selection committee meeting..And i dont understand why there should be a final in this case..Dont know what impact it would have in the near future.

Actually, we need to edit the statement made by Jimmy Amarnath " Selectors are bunch of jokers, join hands to create more and more jokers like Badrinath, Salil Ankola, WV Raman,..."..I think we need to start seeing the cricketers who have been in the squad for more time as 12th man..Then we will get to know how many jokers these selectors have produced for Indian Cricket..Shameful act from a Pro-Mumbaikar Cricket Organization..we cant explain inefficiency of BCCI anything more..:-) ( Posted: Monday , November 05, 2007 at 18:43 )
kalpesh you are absolutely right. ( Posted: Saturday , November 03, 2007 at 12:48 )
AS Guys, It is very importnat for Dravid to take a break for this series on indian pitches against not so formidible attack of Pak, so that we can have his fully charged for Australia''s tour. He needs to get his act together and this break plus some domestic cricket will help him.
Guess if he is selected and continues to crumble against Pak and go to Australia in that state of mind. You don''t want that. Also home series is always a platform to try to young players. Let''s get over with this "Rahul''s exclusion" and enjoy upcoming cricket.
By the way Viru needs another chance, I still believe he worths more in TEST and 50 overs cricket compare to Dinesh KArthik. This long break will do good sp. agaist Pakistan. Also Dilip Vengy is damaging more then helping Indian cricket. So he gotta to go .. Good Luck India. ( Posted: Saturday , November 03, 2007 at 02:59 )
more he he Ganguly left the opening slot for sehwag ane he came at 3 and 4....what is this about coming down the order unless some one is coming at 7or 8 everybody gets almost equal overs.... people coming down the order generally get "softer" part time bowlers to face .....also didn''t dravid went to open in 15 matches instead of giving a chance to a youngster when sachin was injured and continued to open even when sachin came back after initial succeess he failed in 7-8 matches in trot and promptly came down the order.. so much for playing for team and sacrificing for others...the ponit is if ganguly comes down the order he afraid of new ball ( even in one dayes??) and he goes up he is selfish.... dravid goes up and fails he is taking up resposibility...lol...and if he is coming down he is a team man...GOD BLESS INDIA. Julie Cricketnext Please NO MORE BLOGS etc. from Mr. Veera. We do not need people who live in nostalgia of useless statistics & records that mean nothing today. Chak de India.. ( Posted: Friday , November 02, 2007 at 20:14 )
more Wg Cdr Thomas Walker Having watched Cricket for half a century, to me Dravid stands out as someone who has never ever been a PROBLEM in Indian Cricket

For Indian Cricket there was never a more successful run than when the More-Chappell-Dravid machinery was chugging along.

I will blame Vengsarkar for the World Cup flop as he failed to give the young team [needed by the coach] to Dravid [similar to what Dhoni got]

Though I can go on and on I’ll reserve it for latter ! Because Dravid’s being such a gentleman and ambassador for Indian Sport seems to get deeper and deeper I am seriously watching !! He has never contested ‘wrong umpiring decisions’, ‘wrong crowd behaviour’, ‘wrong colleagues’ behaviour’ or ‘wrong selectors’

GOD BLESS YOU DRAVID and MAY YOUR TRIBE INCREASE

more Wg Cdr Thomas Walker An absolutely valid and well written article.

In fact I will certainly place Dravid ahead of both Tendulkar and Ganguly in terms of being a BETTER SPORTSMAN , BETTER HUMAN BEING , BETTER BATSMAN IN TECHNIQUE.

Why ?

Because here is someone who was not afraid of any pitch or playing condition or batting positions or EVEN SELECTORS.

Unlike Ganguly who faked injury fearing grass ! Or Tendulkar who couldn''t perform except in the opening slot.

For the same reason I''ll put Dravid ahead of Sunil Gavaskar for being a better Cricketer though Gavaskar may boast of a better technique as an opener.

In his own mind [for some weird reason known to himself] Vengsarkar seems to be thinking of himself as a competitor to Dravid [or Geg Chappell] in the Indian or International Hall of fame. This perhaps may explain why he may hate Dravid and expect him to idolize him as a great Cricketer and selector.
