Sunil Narayan	I think India did not nurture Irfan and Munaf properly. A pacer should be intimidatory and overwhelming to the openers. Well built, atheletic and powerful. Precision and swing can take a bowler only to a be a good medium pacer. A pacer needs sheer speed as well. I wonder why Lillee and MRF academy has failed so miserably to breed at least one of them, after so many years. Is Lilly earning his bucks in Chennai or having just a good time? Vorshal	Pace is all we need: Whereas we all know that our fast bowling department has been bare and minimum, we also lack in supply of all-rounders. We have the need and funds and the will to do so but we do we have the right plan in action. We want the growth of fast bowlers and all-rounders to come through naturally on their own. This will take time and we may or may not succeed. No special efforts are being made to fill this void. If I were the BCCI Chief, I would suggest a bunch of young fast bowlers and young budding all-rounders be trained regularly for up to one year - by local and foreign specialists and periodically in a cooler places in India on bouncy pitches. Rajnish Sinha	The article and observation is pretty correct - but an obvious one - that we dont produce fast bowlers - and more importantly ones who can run thru sides. But I am most surprised that you have included Srinath in this list. If he hasnt gotten his due (mostly, because of likes of you) doesnt mean that he wasnt the only genuine international class fast bowler that India produced and who could and did run thru sides. And when did Srinath run through sides??? He couldn''t bowl a yorker..the only time he did so was in 92 WC when he got javed Maindad. He had speed but no brains...He could never run thru sides and never did. I still remember how Anwar, jayasuriya used to toy with Srinath... Dilesh	I could not agree more. All of India''s fast bowlers lose their pace within 1 year of international cricket. It''s really pathetic. I think they are more worried about long career and making more money. So they don''t want to get injured by straining themselves. It''s sad. The whole centre of Indian cricket has become money by staying in the team. Nobody plays purely for the love of the game. Simple solution..Indian fast bowlers should get paid 3 times more than other players in the team. So they know that they don''t have to play for 10 to 12 years to feel secure. They should be allowed to make the most of their physical strength in short time. Also they would feel respected for their special talent. But we can''t expect that from Indian cricket. madhurbista@hotamail.com	i wonder out of billion population, there is no single guy who can bowl over 150 or atleast 150k. I am frustrated to see how india cannot wrap up tail enders.
