When India Loses ,Every body say that Indians should have batted well.Should have Scored more runs. Nobody is complainig about the Bowling Dept. Actually Speaking Indian Batting is much stronger than it Bowling Dept. In India the population is more than 100 crores. Still we are not able to pick up a great fast bowler, all rounders.Indias Batting order is very good.We cannot Expect our Indian Team to score 300 on the board , then bowlers can bowl leisurely giving 5.9 per over and should be saving the match when the opponents reach the 290.This cannot be expected to happen always. We need to find some bowlers who can threaten the opposition. If a Player needs to be picked in the Indian Team , then a mandatory rule that needs to applied by the Selection Commitie is ... One should be a good batsman as well as a strinking Bowler.Striking bowlers like McGrath,Wasim Akram,Vaas Economic Bowlers like Devillers from SA. AllRounders like Kalis,Chris Cairns,Abdur Razak. These are the Kind of bowlers we need. If India strengthens the Bowling Dept then India has the ability to win the next 3 world cups as Australia Did it.

Great. The fun lies in even games and not one sided ones. Batting is not cricket.

I cant agree more on u atul. Yes the ICC cant be more stupid than implementing this "free hit ball" rule. the game is already loaded infavour of batsmen , now its goin to be fully loaded.
The 20-20 format has to be used more as a filler between two tests or five ODIs.of course with politicians & businessman running the game it(20-20 format) surely is goin to take centrestage for the money it brings.

The free hit rule is a pathetic recomendation from the commitee headed by Gavasker. I agree with the author on the point that low scoring matches are as good entertainers as high scoring ones. For example WC 99 semifinal between Aus-SA or WC96 semifinal between WI and Aus. BOth of these are classic matches and people will remember them for long time. It sreally pathetic to make a bowler look like a miserable animal in the field. If that was not enough they further planning to came up with mandatory change of ball after 35 overs and allowing the batting side to decide the time of one 5-over powerplay.
If they continue like this, there will be no place for bowlers in the ODI''s and teams will come to the field with 11 batsmen.
