Krishnamachari Srikkanth was one of the most destructive batsmen who could decimate the strongest and most fearsome attacks in the world by his vast range of shots. After making his debut at the age of 21, Srikkanth along with Sunil Gavaskar gave India many memorable starts in both forms of the game. A member of the World Cup winning squad, he was appointed the skipper for the 1989 tour of Pakistan. After being ignored for the South Zone team in 1993 Srikkanth announced his retirement.

Not emphatic exactly, but how happy am I to see India win at last. Team India, again, looked lethargic in their approach in the game, but having come out winners will give them a much needed confidence booster. It was all but scrappy, the Indians managing to head home by an unconvincing five-wicket margin. It’s quite baffling to believe a team like India played the way they did against a team like Bangladesh.
